Default Any XT's in the 12's yet??

Hey guys,

I might be puting my stage 4 wrx to stock for a XT and put the mods on there. Would a vf30'd XT with exhaust, an sti intercooler, and a chip run 12s like my wrx?? Any thoughts would be great!! Thanx

Haven't heard anything yet but the track season is still young in the south part of the states. Betcha this winter where it doesn't snow, somebody will hit 12's.

I just ran 13.7 with a very light launch @ 107 mph.
There was a STi V3 swap (with a 2.5 block) that was running 12.8 @ 107.
Trap speed wise I would say I am very close to the 12 mark.

I am the one who posted that and I would say mid 13's is more like it. I use the GT timer just for comparison. For the record I am running 295WHP and plenty of mods and I have yet to break into the 12's at the track. If my car was a 5 speed I might be very very close.

have you worked on the tranny yet... I bet if you get a high stall and build it up a bit and throw in a good tranny cooler, you'd easily be in the 12s...

and I am almost positive there are a few XTs that can run 12s...

I was thinking it would be cooler to make an STI Forester, than buy a STI that has everything done and everyone has. I can put my whole stage 4 set up on there, my silver P7's, and get some v8 suspension and be set.

I haven't done anything to the tranny yet - maybe in the spring but I need to car as a daily driver as well (120+ miles a day) so whatever I do has to work while driving normal.

As for the post about the STI - personally stick with the forester xt it is cheaper on insurance and the sleeper part is great. Everyone expects an STI to be fast.

I just sent an e-mail to Deadbolt. The sooner they get back in touch...the sooner I'll post some 12 second time slips. Or pics of broken axels.

Truth is...I probably will be too much of a wimp to hit the track. I want my FXT to lay down about 350 ftlbs. But...I also rely on it for my job/career...so hard launches at the track may not be wise.

Default Dont need to do 1/4's and 0-60's

I'm with Oi8ur in that its not worth it to do performance tests. What will I gain knowing that my XT will do a 1/4 in 13s? Or a 0-60 in 5.4?? I trust the other people that do it, not going to do it to mine. I would like to keep it running as long as possible without having to replace a bunch of stuff.

It's like you guys are comparing your male anatomy. I'm happy with what I got

I'm just happy to be able to take some people off a stoplight and pass a truck on a 2-lane hwy.

Not to be rude, but if the guy is asking for performance specs and you don't see the point of it then just don't post. This type of post comes all the time here it seems, someone asks about mods and someone else replies that he should save the money for college or a house or some other practical (in their opinion) purpose. If someone wants to spend $30,000 in mods on a Forester, who am I to say that it is a bad idea just because I am happy with my stock XT? Perfect example is a friend who crashed his Audi A4 on its first track outing. His car, his choice. Hell, he could buy it and light it on fire for all I care as long as he doesn't do it in my front yard.

OK then, I'll be rude instead.
A guy can't even ask a simple decent question without taking flack.

Nabisco is really going down hill.

You and Boomer get together for comparison purposes?? Or maybe you ARE Boomer?? I'd trust the other people to do it. I'd like to see what the GPMoto Forester will do with its 400+ whp, and once they work that up a little higher, I'd really be surprised if it doesn't work its way deep into the twelve second range. I for one would enjoy seeing the Forester platform become something of a dark horse in a few places.

Right now, Pleiad's Forester is not done by any stretch, but will smoke Audis, Porsche Boxsters, and RX-8's at will. There are several others that have been completely caught off guard by the speed and quickness of the Forester, and are now giving these a second look.

More power to the ones that think different. Think outside of the box, and dare to challenge what people think they know about the Forester.

Maybe I'm slightly biased...

I'm just throwing my 2 cents in like everone else. I guess if I had the opportunity and money to soop mine up a bit, I would, just wouldnt try to get a 12s 1/4. We all just have different views on how we use it, thats all. Sorry if I offended anyone with that.

Andrew

PS I am not Boomer, dont even know who he is.

If I thought I only had 12 second power....I'd take a couple of passes. But I think 350 Wftlbs with our tranny ratio's would probably be good for high 11's......and broken stuff for sure. It would take great traction( drivetrain stress) to pull that off.

My point was.....why take passes with big power...unless you've got the spare axels / driveshaft sitting in your garage.
