Default What exactly is involved in the 30k mile service?

Mine is approaching very quickly, so I need to start gathering parts and fluids. I would appreciate recommendations on fluids also.

Thanks,
Jard

p.s. I know I could just look in the Owner's Manual...but that's way out in the car, and it's cold out there.

not too much... oil/filter change, maybe a coolant flush, tranny/diff fluid change, clean the air filter, pcv/fuel filter etc.. Nothing too major I believe.. As far as fluids, maybe add some redline water wetter if you flush coolant, Redline Shockproof for the tranny (heavyweight is fine), Redline Neo-Synth 75W90 for the diff. It's what I've got waiting the 8k miles till I hit 30K.. Somebody on wrxfanatics did a good write up of a DIY 30k service.. I'll see if I can pull it up for you.

Edit: Here you go.. check this thread for all the info you should need

http://subaru.com/owners/care/schedules/middle.jsp has what you need to do. When you do your coolant, I'd recommend the Crucial Racing thermostat at the same time. Nino's usually has the best prices at around $65. You should also do the throttle body bypass, the part runs like $2. Instructions for the TB bypass and other maintenance items are on www.scoobymods.com. View my Cooling System FAQ as well. The Subaru Cooling system conditioner is DEADLY important to use.

Huh, thanks for the post. I'm doing the Crucial thermostat Friday. What's the TB bypass do? Cools the intake charge?
