Default P2096 code; anyone else get this???

first, the car is a 05 STi. i have a perrin catless downpipe and hks catback. i also have the resistor in the O2 sensor. these are the only mods. now every 300-400 miles i'll get the P2096 code (fuel trim system too lean, bank 1). what do i need to do to fix this? i tried the search for the code but only 3 threads came up with no fixes. can anyone help?? thanks in advance.

Do you have any other mod's that might be causing this? Or are these your only mods?

i'd wager it's because the cel 'fix' does not really fool the ecu well enough to pass muster.
i've read arguments that your ltft's are adversly effected by a static rear o2 signal.
i'm kind of stupid about the whole subject but if you search there is an amazing thread on the subject..

i was gonna try switching to the anti-fouler but since that doesn't seem to work i'll stay where i'm at. right now i just clear the code with my scanner and call it a day.

You need the perrin 02 simulator. I had the same problem you all describe, used the resistor etc....

The 02 sensor must sense a fulctuating resistance, not a constant resistance. The resistor trick won't work.

This solved my 2096, 4000 miles and not one code.

Is this the right fix?

Will the fix have to be removed when I get my AccessPort?

Default me too

Code: P2096 - Post catlyst Lean Bank 1
Year/Make/Model: 2005 Impreza WRX STI
Mileage: 3750
Fix for problem: None now. Any suggestions?

Comments:
Well, I have the following mods done:
APS CAI
gruppe-s V2 Header w/ o2 sensor(no resistor or mech fix) and egt
Ported vf39
helix uppipe
txs dp
txs high flow cat w o2 resistor, and currently the mech fix as well
txs tappered mid pipe
txs 2.5 rfl muffler
UTEC tuned

It usually takes about a week of driving to and from work for the cel to come on. Only know this because I installed all parts before utec was tuned. I could not pull the code myself, subrau had to pull code. My understanding is it is the exhaust manifold o2 sensor. Was thinking I could wire a resistor mod on that o2 sensor and that would fix problem. Any one else get this code, or able to fix it?

Thanks for the advice 909. I have the same problem and I couldn't figure out what to do. I have Ecutek though, and so I thought it might have had something to do with my tune, I guess not.
