Exclamation Rusty Strommung's

I've been looking into exhaust systems lately and considering the STi's are all missing in action I'm thinking about the Strommung Duel Tip but am concerned about the rust situation. I've read a few reply's where ppl have talked about the Strommung's rusting, and is a major concern up here in Canada. Also are the performance gains on the Strommung as good as the STi??? Thanks a lot for any help!

mild ones rust, as do the stainless ones. I'm not overly impressed w/ the build quality of the stroumng. My favorite, and what I feel is the best built exhaust is the scooby sport. It's hand fab'd and you can tell, but it's made well. Solid looking, and good sounding. You have to pay for it though .

Lightbulb Solution?

Anyone with a rusty mild steel Stromung could get it Jet Hot (or other similar process) ceramic coated in black or near stainless color for far less than replacing it. It should be protected from rust for the resto of its useful life after that...

Yea, i think that all the people complaining about rusty SS Stromungs, including myself, were just seeing a little bit of tarnish. Some metal cleaner should get rid of most of it. Just make sure to keep cleaning it during the winter. Salt+heat= nasty.
