Question 70k mile check up

My car just fliped over the 70k mark. They are all highway miles, but I haven't done any of the scheduled maintinence. To the best of my knowledge all they do is change the fluids, who cares I'v been doing that the whole time. What I am concerned about is the cam belt and the valve adj. Is this somthing that I should be looking into soon?

jesus...70k on an '99....

I just turned 80k on my '98...

Watch for oil leaks... The cam belt doesn't have to be done until 105 k, but if there's an oil leak or a water pump gasket leak it should be done sooner. if it's leaking, there will be oily damp spots on the underside of the plastic cam covers...

When it comes time to do the service, see if you can find out what revision the oil seals are.

I have a very early '98 build. the part numbers indicated a newer revision when I replaced the crank seal on the oil pump. I've got cam seal leakage now too....gotta take the mf'er apart again.

If you get all the seals replaced early, or at the same time as the belt, they won't have to take it apart again....

then again, the DOHC cars are different anyway....
