Impreza WRX STi Tire Fitment

Just want to ask does a 245/40/18 fits on a 7.5" wide rim?

Do you think 235/40/18 fits better and works better?

Does either of this cause any rubbing on a 05 STi?

Thank you for all your suggestions!

235 should fit. Look at the tire on tirerack.com and see what the suggested rims width is. That iwll give you the acceptable width range that the tire can be mounted on.

What tires are you looking at? I would say that the largest you would want to go would be 235, but I ave seen larger. Tell us what tire you want and we will go from there.

Here are the specs off Tirerack.com for the Pirellis

225/40-18
7.5-9"
25.1"

235/40-18
8-9.5"
25.4"

245/40-18
8-9.5"
25.7"

The only one that would really work is the 225 40 18. The others require a wider rim. Now you could probably do the 235 or 245, but that would be pussing it. Something else you have to keep in mind is overall diamter of the tire for speedo and odo accuracy. The 225 40 18 is closest to stock height of 24.9 and will cause the fewest inacuracies to occur.

I just realized I gave you the specs for the Nero M+S. The PZero Nero's are the same except they do not come in 245 40 18.

I know there are a few people who have done 255 40 17 on the stock 04 sti wheels and have had no rubbing issues.
