Default Is it a rule that anyone in the car repair industry is unable to call you back?

I won't mention the dealership online, as they have gone out of their way to apologize and make the situation right, but it's got me thinking.

I had a service guy tell me that he would call me back in 10 min. I told him just to call me that day when he had a chance. He said "I take care of my Subaru customers." This was Thursday. Didn't hear from him again until yesterday. He told me he would call me back again, and didn't. I spoke with a manager to didn't call me back later that day, and then today still didn't call back.

Then, because the problem with my car was a result of another shop, I called the guy there, who hasn't called me back, and hardly ever returned my calls when I had my car with him.

The guy actually yelled at me, because he was making assumptions I was pissed because my car wasn't ready, when I was really pissed at the lack of communication.

"If you aren't happy with our service, why don't you come pick the damn thing up and take it elsewhere"

He later called back, apologized, and said he would make it right.

If I'm not happy with the job, I will. I don't think they really care though.

A while back me and Jimmy went to that dealership, showed up in a WRX, went into the Subaru side, and still no one would talk to us, or ask us if we needed help. We were there like 30 minutes without anyone talking to us before we just left.

WTMW... I hate having to call them 2-3 times a day just to get through to the right person, and then getting told you'll be called back - and then never hearing anything.

It's cool. I'll probably only be here another week or so anyway. I hate having to deal with a service dept. that's not interested in me helping them make money.

I saw the PM.

Then quickly realized I wasn't going to spend $165 on my secret santa! If it would have been around $50 I may have.

My subaru dealer just called me back. granted, they left me on hold forever and 4 people picked up to find out who I was waiting for, and when they couldn't find him they took a message. But he did call me back.

I really wish dealerships would be able to give customers what they want and deserve...good customer service.

In defense of the dealership though, the service advisor(who the customer speaks with) has about 10 balls to juggle at 1 time. They got their work cut out for them. I am not justifying their lack of service, but sometimes miscommunications happen, and the "ball is dropped". Ish happens.

I wasn't trying to bring your name into this, but you did so don't yell at me .

The only pleasant part of dealing with said dealership was because of Porter. But, doesn't it seem kind've ridiculous to have to go through friends at the dealership to get things done? If it wasn't for Porter, I would've burned that mother down.
