Default Good set of tires for driving in the SF bay area?

I've been reading reviews/ratings about various tires and was looking for some suggestions. I am by far no expert on tires and such but I do know that I want something that handles well in both dry weather as well as rainy weather. Basically, something for the weather we see here in the SF bay area. No snow or anything too severe.

I was looking at the Toyo Proxes 4 as one of my choices. I've read reviews that were raving about this tire. Does anyone know if this tire is noisy?? A friend of mine suggested Potenza S03s. Does anyone have any other suggestions or info?? Thanks.

If you don't see snow....then you don't need an All Seaeon...AS... tire.

There are many competent Ultra High Performance....UHP or MAX performance tires available.

Also, many with STi's go with a 235/45 or a 245/40 or larger tire without any issues.
