Yeah. I'm curious to see what mine is next year.

It'll be a nice consolation for buying an over-priced house in NoVA.

I'm gonna owe.

Half a year working 1099 with no taxes witheld, and now half a year working W-2. But I already saved 33%+ of the funds I collected as 1099, and with half a W-2 return... it shouldn't be that bad.

But I still will have to pay Uncle Sam. That's OK, it was the last time.

it says 12/03 on it, so I guess this is from last year's income?

Makes sense, I had 3 employers in 1 year, I know I overpaid. This year I bought the house, so it's a whole new thing

I do hope you guys know getting a refund means you gave the government an interest-free loan.

Not if it's coming from mortgage interest.

I know you can manipulate it, but still...

No, a refund comes from taxes you overpaid. A $1200 refund means you gave them an extra $100 every month for the last year.

EDIT: and WTH is a refund thread doing in November? I won't even have a W2 until Feb. 1.

I hate Bush for using tax incentives that drive our country in the wrong direction. Yes, all we need is more people thinking about their business vehicles... what to get, what to get? And then when the 6000lb tax credit is brought to their attention, they steer their purchase towards something impracticle like a freakin' H2 or a big ass truck they don't need. I don't want to really get into it. It's just a shot in the foot for our country if you take all the dynamics/variables of it into consideration. *sigh*
