Default Mirror w/Garage door opener

Saw this at a dealer today. http://mastrowrx.com/index.asp?PageA...ROD&ProdID=288 Anyone know if it will work in the Baja? Subaru part number H501SAG010. I'm thinking that since we have the power socket for the normal auto-dimming mirror that this would be compatible as well?

I would bet that it would work. I read in the last drive magizne that Subaru was going to start selling homelink for the 05 model year and have options for other years, like in the visor and mirror.

Digging this up a year later... since I'm finally going to have a garage with which I will need an opener.

Haven't found anywhere that lists this mirror for the older Bajas. Subaru is also selling a new part number, not sure if the old one is discontinued. H501SAG010 is the old one, H501SAG100 is the newer. I have inspected the parts at my local dealer and both have the same plug, a three pin unit (female) that matches the available plug in my headliner. It looks like for the Forrester and some other models an adapter is necessary, H501SSA040. Since the plugs match up I'm not sure this is required, but if necessary it's only a $10 part. Quoting from the Winter '05 Drive magazine-

...In addition, the new HomeLink/compass/mirror is available as an accessory option for older Subaru vehicles as well. It will fit any vehicle for which the compass/mirror accessory option was previously available. Call your dealer for applicability.
So while no online shop or my local parts guy can confirm the HL mirrors will work in the Baja, Subaru seems to indicate there is *some* way to do so.

In the SCCPR forums someone posted pictures of the install he did, I guess in his STI. http://www.sccpr.org/forums/showthre...de=hybrid&t=28 You can see the white three pin plug in the first picture. This matches up perfectly with the socket in my '03 Baja. Haven't yet bothered to try and translate the page to see what all the responses and tips are.

If I do pick one of these up ($240 at the dealer, about $190 online) I'll let everyone know how it goes. It would be nice if Subaru provided more details about how the HL mirrors will "fit any vehicle."
