Default Are the Yokahama Ice Gaurd's a good winter tire

I can get a deal for 4 of the Yokahama Ice gaurd tires put on for $409 (205/55/16). This includes tax, balancing and mounting. The deal is $113 per tire but buy 3 and get the 4th free so it equals to about $88 per tire. Are these good winter tires?

I'm not fan on Skimping on winter tires especially if it snows a lot in your area or you will be traveling to the snow country. I'd get a set that has proven themselves like the Bridgetstone Blizzak series ($105-$129 on Tirerack). But yes $88/tire is pretty cheap. Hope my opinion helps you out.

i have heard good things about blizzaks, what ones are the best for the WRX? I know they make many different styles.

Tirerack.com The style I plan on getting are the LM-22. It has one of the higher speed rating than the others. The upside is that they should be better on clear roads than other Blizzak's. The downside is that it loses a little bit of grip in the deep snow. So if you live in Seattle when it snow usually sticks in the urban area for a few days max and you head up to the passes on the weekends, then the LM-22's are a good choice. If snow falls in November and doesn't leave till April, then the other styles could be a better choice for you.
