Default New Wheels

I'm looking to upgrade my stock wheels on my 2005 WRX to 17 inches. Can anyone advise as to which wheels in that size are lightest / closest to stock weight? I really like the look of a couple wheels out there, but I'm not sure of the performance aspects.

I'd like to get the wheels and tires for under $1300.00. For tires I'm considering Falken Azenis or Kumhos. I like the Tenzo R wheels alot, but I can;t find any weight comparisons betwee nthem and the stock wheels.

I know the 02-04 rims weight 16.5lbs...I'm not sure about the 05's, but they're probably close. How close to stock weight do you want to be? Is 18lbs close enough?

I've got 17x8 Rota Torques...I can post pics if you want. Subydude.com or Oakos.com are great Rota vendors, although I think Subydude has a wider selection and offers wheel/tire packages. Basically all of the 17" Rotas are in the 18lb range.

The way I see it is that I can get some decent rims and put some good tires on them. To me, tires matter more than the rims....to some people, rims matter more than tires. Your choice. But if you don't want Rotas, there are a bunch of choices.

For other wheels:
www.gruppe-s.com
www.z1auto.com

I agree, tires are more important than wheels. I'm not trying to slam you but $1300 is a little on the lean side for a tire/wheel combo.

Yeah...I'd say get some Rotas, and spend the extra money on decent tires.

Anyone have any experience with G-Racing Wheels? Or Racing Hart? Wheelsnext.com seems to have some good deals on those, and they look nice.

I've never ordered from them, but I know that www.subarustore.com has Racing Harts.

By the way, 5Zigen FN01RC are stock weight. According to Z1auto, the 17x7 ($205) is 16lbs and the 17x8 ($220) is 16.5lbs.
