I have a saab friend in the Syracuse or Ithaca area (he is between each). I can see if he has time to arrange a dinner location. I will contact him and post back with the results.

yellownight-I recall you being from the ithaca area??? If you are thinking of helping for this area I will ask my friend for the Syracuse area.

I know there is a bunch of folks on the buffaloscooby.com that are from syracuse, so that is a resource to tap.

Mike-I was thinking (just put the fire out) and maybe the guys on that site will be eaiser to work something out with sense some of them might be on this site too?

Just realized it would get more difficult then it needs to be having my friend arrange the Syracuse dinner sense he is not on this site and what not. Think I will invite him up for a visit though.

Default Which one?

Hey folks, I was just looking up Breast Cancer organizations and saw there are several. Which one do we want to get in touch with? It looks like the main ones are the National Breast Cancer Foundation (www.nationalbreastcancer.org); The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer foundation (www.komen.org/); The American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org); and Breastcancer.org.

Does anyone favor one over the other? I figure we pick one, and contact them with what we want to do. Once we have some more details, maybe we can write up some sort of press release and contact the different radio & TV stations in the area.

For some reason I favor the American Cancer Society. Probably because they've head their heart on the Cherios boxes for more than a few years now...
In the end I don't think it will matter which one is selected though, it will all be going for a great cause.

Well with the meet in Ithaca I'm not sure of a big outcome but I can get my parents to come again.

Since the last time in Ithaca they have cleaned up a bit and opened up more stuff. The Chillies is now open plus there are more store's opening too. Or we can just eat at Wegmans. They have everything.

Yes, i was thinking about this on my way home today.....raising money for breast cancer awarness/society would be good....but i'm sure people would be wondering why a group of mostly guys are raising money for breast cancer awarness/society.

I mean yes i know guys can get breast cancer...and i'm not sayin that the money shouldn't be raised...or can't be raised by mostly guys....just thinking it would be thought of as odd.

With all that said...i think perhaps just donate to the american cancer society, not specifically towards a breast cancer thing.

Wouldn't be the first time we've done something that's considered odd.

It's all about the pink.

PS...I'm sure someone could come up w/ a good sort of logo...with the pink STi symbol...and the pink ribbon...or something.

Men have mothers, sisters, daughters or at a minimum like boobies - nothing strange about raising money for breast cancer research. And I think we should get some representatives to help motivate us for the cause.

Not opposed to open cancer society money raising either.

Personally, earlier in the year my wife went through a scare with Breast cancer, and my best friend's sister is about to undergo surgery next Friday for it. That's enough of a reason for men to be raising money, because as turbiICE said "men have mothers, sisters, daughters", and wives.

That said, the American Cancer Society would probably satisfy everyone's criteria. One reason to go for the National Breast Cancer Foundation though is "Scoobies for Boobies!"

Mark, despite really feeling your concern with those close to you I have to disagree - men don't have wives... those with wives are no longer masters of their own domain! (that is not a judgment, or a declaration that it should or should not be that way, just an observation)

I still say "Scoobies for Boobies!" I want a big one on each of my mirrors like those jdm pig things. An Sti pink circle with a dot in the center on each mirror.

I think the STi symbol and ribbon would look awesome, can someone possibly design?

Ok ok...I start. To be honest...I like the idea of what we're supporting, etc. The only thing I don't like is the use of 'STi'...as only a few cars on the trip will in fact be STi's...mostly just Subarus. Gotta figure away to incorporate that into it.

Anyway though;

Edit..heres another quickie.

Nice.

Yeah but some nonSTi's seem to have an awful lot of STi parts on them though...

Make the ribbon so the fold holds the subaru 7 star logo.

Make me a scoobie boobie logo now

Someone make the logo and then we'll get them to our sticker guy.

Also we need to find a T-shirt silk screener to make "I survived the 4th Annual 48hrs of Tristate"

I like N'CTRL's first STi one, and thought of this (not a good designer, so this is just what I'm trying to convey!)
