I searched and couldnt find anything on it.Will the 2.7 XT-6 motor bolt up to an EJ series drive train. And what else is needed if that is possible to make that engine run in an impreza.Reason I am asking a friend of mine has one that he said I could have.Just curious about the possibility of this idea.

I'm not sure about the older engines and whether or not they will bolt up...have you tried searching?

The older EA series transmissions will not bolt up to EJ engines or vice versa. The lower 2 bolts line up but the others do not. I made an adapter for my dune buggy but that wont work for you.
