I mean I would throw them on on a super dark road late at night and switch them off if a car came. I just really like the look

Still brainstorming ideas on how to mount some hella 500's on the front bumper for winter and long trips. The DIY lightbar must be easily removable. Anyone have any ideas?

Only thing I can think of is to make 2 brackets with either square or round tube stock and make the lightbar out of slightly smaller diameter stock so it can slide into the brackets and bolt on. Then just use some deutsch plugs so I can plug & play the lights
Pretty much want everything as hidden as it can when the bar is not on..

MSpaint FTW!!

Kinda what I want it to look like

And maybe later down the line

Just keep in mind that all it takes is the other car to see you first. With that many lamps at that height they WILL be blinded. So if an oncoming driver enters your lane or drives off the road you know why.

I wouldn't do it, but that's me. You have a Subaru, not a Jeep or jacked up Bro Truck.

Oh believe me that crossed my mind. Im not trying to be a jeep I just think the lights on the front are out of place. What will more than likely end up happening is I will use the lights for camping to light the camp site and things of that nature. Im not lookin to kill anyone lol

UMMMM, those lights are mounted lower than the headlights.... So if they're aimed properly there sholdn't be a problem with a brief exposure. I used to have micro ff's behind the grill and ff1000's on my outback. wired with the highbeams, had them on there for 4 years and no one swerved into my lane even when I didn't switch the high beams off right away.

Also a single bracket that long is liable to be unstable (shaky light syndrome) so you should also consider a way to triangulate the frame to provide additional support.

temp mounted a rigid ind. 10" specter. I only had time to run around the block real quick, but f!!! it's bright. I'll run around in the next few evenings to dial it in, but here is a quick cell vid. Sequence is...100w ff1000's, both, led bar, off, led bar. My only gripe atm is there is too much vertical spread for a driving beam.

not yet....I mounted it last night and in the process of doing that and a few other things in the garage I had a few beers. Didn't think it'd be wise to road test them then . I'll mess around with it tomorrow evening, weather permitting, and get pix.

Here it is as it stand right now (I wish I didn't have a top mount lol)

Nice. Now that I need a front license plate, I have no idea how I'll mount some driving lamps.

a bit, but not nearly as bad as when on the RI skid bar. I made some adjustable struts for the lamps though...takes care of that

this is kind of a weird question but has anyone had their lights stolen before? It always worries me that someone would unbolt them and just take them

I do think about it from time to time....occasionally. There are different types of tamper proof nuts you can get. Other than that, there are other ways to make them harder to steal
