He's obviously talking about the eBay specific, no name lamps when someone refers to an eBay product.

And if I had that kind of money I would definitely not cheap out. But at a 10th the price, I can't complain.

He probably was, but when someone makes a blanket statement they shouldn't expect to never get called on it.

They're definitely worth the money based off the quality, but I still would love to see the output of these eBay sold, no name branded lights too. Maybe get some for cornering light purposes when I remake my lightbar setup for my new car.

Three simple shots with an iPhone. Lows, highs, lows with the 24" bar. The light output isn't really justified but the crap pictures as I'm sure you know. That being said the output exceeds expectations for the price of the bar.

I'd almost say aim it a little bit lower, but it's kind of hard to tell without either a nice open distance ahead of you (like an open road) or a flat wall, like I've done in the past (highlights the strongest points of your beams). All in all doesn't look bad though, I assume it's a flood?

welp...when the response followed directly after a post about an off brand lamp (99.999% of the time chinese) I figured it was pretty specific....next time I'll spell it out for ya to prevent confusion.

I would assume that its much lower than anything by RI. The bar is a combination with flood patterns on the outside and spots on the inside.

You made a blanket statement about the lights, I told you that you're wrong, don't get butthurt.

My 10th or the price no name eBay specials. I would think the Rigid Industries are brighter.

Sellars21, you'd see much better if those lows weren't so blue. Colored lights = less light. Stick to 4300k

And if you want to see better at night try H9 bulbs modified to fit the H11 sockets. The filament is in the same place so the optics are still working the way intended, and you'll have an extra 10watts... and around 50% more Lumens.

The difference is night and day.

How much was it? I'll let you know the difference in price.

Edit: ~$650-700 for a 20". I'll still stick with Rigid personally, but hey some people want crap and some want quality.

It's not that blue in person, and yes I'm well aware of the usable lighting spectrum.

I payed $85 CAD shipped. It is identical in exterior appearance to the RI 20" bar in every way with the exception of the placement of where the cord enters the bar itself and the rivets on the front face around the glass.

My bar is advertised as 24" as a total length. Also identical to the 20" RI bar.

Im guessing its the same casing and mounting hardware. I can't say anything about guts though. Number of lights and placement of the flood/spots are also same.

RI is priced at 699.99, and 8,400 raw lumens. My bar on eBay was advertised as +9,000 lumens...vague I know, and probably just a guess on their part. But for $85, I'm really happy.

Aight, that's not bad at all. Maybe for THAT much less I'd take a chance too. Did it come with the wiring harness and everything for install (including a switch)? I'm kind of wanting to see a spot comparison now, and of course a distance shot to see how the light beam plays out.

It didn't, only 2 feet of cord with exposed wires for power and ground. I made everything I needed, relay $6, switch $2. Wiring and some connectors and female ends to connect to relay, and lots of heat shrink. That allows for the custom wiring route and exact lengths for a cleaner look.

Here's a link to seller with the same item that I bought. This is a "buy it now" price. I won mine on a low ball bid that also offered free shipping.

In the pics you can also see how the shell is identical to the 20" rigid industries.

eBay- http://bit.ly/19mpZt4

Rigid 20" bar- http://www.rigidindustries.com/20-E-...-series-20.htm

Technically you could do the same with Rigid Industries ones too. Watch the torture tests the have. Good. God. Destroyed and still working.

The ONLY thing I didn't like about the Rigid lights is they didn't come with a relay in the harness......so I added a relay on that circuit today.

Edit #2:
Also, I moved both my hella 500, and rigid circuits to a button that has two separate SPST switches. I fitted the hella switch, and rigid switch on the button because i didn't like the switches it came with.
The ones in my hand I removed, the installed ones are the switches next to the e-brake.

Doesn't look the best, but its temporary. This puts both switches in the same easy to reach spot, and still lets me operate both independently. Probably going to relocate the switch again but use one like this:

Much smaller than the current one.

The switch is fed from the parking lights, that way I can't leave either set of lights on. Both lights still have their own fuse and relay. I'd eventually like to use one larger relay/contactor with 2 sets of contacts, instead of 2 separate relays....but it's fine for now.

I'm totally new to wiring and lighting on a vehicle thing, but I was able to decipher Hella's light instructions so I think there may be a chance for me here. Also I chose the Hellas for now because they were on the cheaper side. Eventually I will go LED.

I'm just getting a feel for light on the vehicle. This is my mock up at the moment. Everything it quick disconnect for easy adjustment and removal.

I'll show you my wiring when I get pictures tomorrow, but hopefully I could get some advice on how to better approach it.

Thanks guys!

I just read today that the new Corollas will all have LED headlights STANDARD. That's pretty cool, they bypasses HIDs altogether.
