If you have and know how to use a multi-meter, a good place to start may be your ignition system. Seeing as how everything else works, it's got to be something with that. Just my .02

Agreed. I think it's safe to say that your problem is electrical in nature. Just start at the battery & work your way back. I would think because your horn & hazzards are working you can rule out the actual battery....but check your fuses & grounds all the way back.

Try removing the steering wheel column cover, the lower one, and check power at your key switch. off position and on position. Maybe a bad connection in there?

Check the large main fuses in the underhood fuse box, they are the rectangular ones that don't look like regular fuses. Might have blown one of those.

If you did blow a fuse there must be a reason, those fuses will not blow normally. If you find one blown some electrical troubleshooting is in order to find the cause and correct it.

i kind of have the same problem...except my car doesnt do anything, no starter clicking, slight crank, nothing. But, the lights work, radio, windows, etc...the car never had a warning light flash.

This happens every now and then, one time it starts no prob, then nothing the next time. I thought it was a cold start issue.....well, went to the mountatins, the car sat for 10 hrs (sub 30 degrees), started...at my house last week it sat for 6-8hrs in mid 30s...didnt start, had to pop the clutch. This morning it sat for ~10 hrs in mid-upper 30s, started right up.

I wish subaru gave you a loaner, no questions asked.......but that would be too hard.
