Ok, I've looked around eBay and found these speakers and an amp. Will this all work together and fit? Let me know, Xmas wish list in the making and need help quick. Thanx in advance

(front 6.5) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...734808733&rd=1

(rear 5.25) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...735111817&rd=1

AMP http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...735163776&rd=1

Will this amp be good, handle the power? Able to be hooked up to the stock Head unit.

I was sorely disappointed with my infinity components (the 60.5cs, same ones as you have there). Terrible midbass, harsh highs, just not very pleasant to listen to.

And that amp is the epitome of suck

I guess you have around a $300 budget?
Maybe a Monitor 2ch amp and a set of cdt classics, and leave the rears stock and on the headunit. I don't know much about Monitor though, I just hear them thrown around as a decent choice for a budget amp. You might be able to find a DEI or JBL (maybe) for around that price too.

Definately not that amp for sure. First thing you need to do is go listen to some speakers and figure out what you like the sound of. Then we can easily recommend something similar in your price range (if the ones you like the sound of aren't in your price range already). After that we can also come up with an amp that will appropriately power those speakers and fit into the same budget.

I second. I decided to got rid of my infinity REF605cs after listening to a set of CDT CL-61. around the same price, and they are far superior. I understood that the infinity could not achieve what I wanted, even with a ton of processing. it's not really a tone problem. the tonal balance of the CDT are different, more natural IMO, but the main difference is details, imaging, and smoothness. you can find CL-61 for 150 or less, and you can definately find a used quality amp to push them for 100$

Wow, I'm suprised everyone is so down on infinty. I guess my ear isn't as sensiitive as I thought. I was thourougly impressed with the Infinty components I listened to (and ordered because of that reason). I thought they sounded much better than the JL's and MB's I had heard. I guess I'll have to find some of these CDT's to listen to.

Ok, I found a set of CDTs for $150, so I'm guessing if they are so good I might as well just get the fronts for now with an amp, it should be much better, right?

that amp is bad because it's a Pyramid, one of the worst brands out there
it won't put out its rated power, it won't be reliable, it's just plain bad

and honestly I wouldn't focus much attention or money on the rears, I don't even have rears in my car and I never plan on putting them in. After you get the cdts and a decent amp, deaden the front doors heavily. From there you will probably want a small sub, nothing huge, maybe just a sealed 10 on 300rms or so. After that you can decide if you want to add rears or not.

Ok, so the CDTs it is. Now what amp do you guys recommend? It could be either 2CH or 4CH (I would rather like the 4CH since then later I can upgrade the rears, but for now I can deal with the fronts and 2CH)

Remember I am left with not much money, I guess another $150 at most

This is a much better choice than any of the three you mentioned. If you are really on a tight budget go with this JBL from CarDomain.

YAY is pretty right on, with what you can get for just under $300. Of course you will have to add in wiring and install, but that can be done relatively cheap as well.
