Default 90 Legacy turbo

Sorry it's avtually a 90
Hi, just a quick question. How hard would it be to find another one of these? Would 4900 be a good price?
91 2.2 turbo with 89k. 55k on new motor.
I've wanted one for a while and im wondering if i'd screw myself if i pass on this deal. Thanks

I think it is worth it, even though you might want to try and talk the seller down a little on the price. Easiest thing to do would be check Kelley Blue Book and see what the estimated value is like. It has a newer engine in it, and as long as it doesn't have rust all over the place(doesn't seem to in the pic), I would get it. Besides, the car looks great. I would hook that deal up with the quickness!!!

It would seem like a good price if the whole car is cherry. It is not so rare that you won't find another, I see them around for sale often enough but not a lot with that few miles.

Check out bbs.legacycentral.org for anything you want to know about them.

that sounds a tad high but it depends on what has been done to it..looks like someone has repainted it so i would look anyway for rust in the usual places...lower front fenders just in front of the doors as a lot of owners never cleaned out all the debris and it just sits there collecting moisture and rotting away. the next is the rear fender wells where the rear bumper cover bolts to the body and at the front lower rear wheel well . is it a m/t or a/t? and i would find out why a new motor cuz the 2.2t block is very stout and will withstand a lot of abuse.....even overboosting. but not lowoil or shoddy upkeep. all of mine have over 150k and the motors are still very strong. if the car is from the carolinas it should be rust free, just full of pine needles almost every one i have had ended up needing rightrear wheel bearings so thats another thing to listen for. give it a thorough once over and let us know what you have found. good luck

I only paid 2300 for mine. Then dumped the rest of money into mods. If your talking about that one on ebay, that guy is kinda an idiot. There were way more than 15 made for one thing. Then, on the legacy board he was talking about subaru coming out with a H8 800hp engine. The car has been on ebay a couple times now. I think one time he had the buy it now set at $20k due to the "rareness" of the car.

160hp/180ftlb torque. when you say "what does it run stock?" what are you referring to? boost?, 1/4 mile?

8.7 psi at sea level and around 15 sec. in the 1/4. With a really good aggressive launch and perfect shifts, a stock SS could probably pull a high 14 second pass.

I'd like to see that.

~16 is the normal stock SS figure. Where is perfect driving going to net over a second?

I bought mine for $300. It was abused, but had low miles for the year and no reverse. Blown reverse is common for the 4EAT's and I picked up a rebuilt one for $300. So $600 later and I have the perfect winter car.

Really, you think? 15.5-16.0 is more the norm I'd say and a 14.9 is do able I think. I know guys pull mid 15's in stock SS's. Hell, guys pull mid-high 16's in 2.2 N/A's.

My buddy pulled a 13.9 in the 1/4 at the shootout this last year in a bone stock rex but I guess that's not possible either? I don't think a rex would be a full two seconds faster then an SS in the 1/4, do you?

Maybe I'm wrong though, I sure don't care enough to bet my left nut on it or anything...

I picked mine up for $3700 and it had a Subaru Remanufactured 4eat, new tires, and a ton of spare parts, on top of being in overall good shape.

I actually got it from Opie on these boards.

I have NOT been disappointed yet, even though the stock fuel pump just recently died.......

JDM Legacy RS made 220hp and 260nm of torque. runs about 8-10 psi std boost. Low 14's for the 1/4 mile i think(cant remember std figure)
I bought a JDM one for about 4700$US. This si how much they cost over here still, they are sort after. It still holds its own with alot of newer performance cars and sounds cool.
