Question When are you going to switch to snow tires?

Are you going to wait until it actually snows or is forcasted to snow to put the snow tires on or are your snows on all ready?

I didn't answer any of the first 20 so...
I switch over when I see snowflakes and the forecast is for inches, or their is a high chance of snow for my return trip from work. Either way I normally switch the night before. I have had to switch the morning of leaving for work because the weather forecaster was way wrong.

Otherwise I keep them nicely tucked away in the garage and run the summers which will be RE930s come this spring when I replace this junk that came with car.

I answered one of the others something like this: the night before snow is predicted I'll change to the snow tires. When the roads are clear from that snow, I'll change back. I'll do that for every snow storm until the curse of winter has lifted.

Snow tires are for wusses. Falken Azenis Sport will decimate all!!!

Actually, I've been meaning to take them off for about 2 weeks now, & between being lazy & busy I haven't. Plus I have a hard time getting excited about RE-92s

When I used to drive my car in the winter, the RE92's were unstoppable with AWD. even after I lowered it. Don't know why some subie owners buy dedicated snow tires, that is unless they live in aspen.

The UPS truck just dropped off my V Rated Dunlop Winter Sport M3 Snow tires. My RE92s are at the end of their life almost (I'm pushing 36,500 miles...yes you read that right, 36,500 miles on a 2004 WRX), so a replacement is needed.

Can't wait though for the Spring when I can get a set of BFG G-Force KDWs on my Prodrive 17s...

You will feel differently the first time you go around a corner slightly faster than you should on ice/snow and understear across the street into a curb causing almost $4000 damage to your car. Under these conditions the RE92s are not very forgiving to idiots like me. After this happened to me and my car was in the bodyshop for over a month I drove the car from the shop to a tire place and had Dunlop M2 snow tires mounted. They are great in bad conditions and much better for someone like me who sometimes has lapses in judgement. Also, strangely enough, they seem to me to handle better on dry roads than the RE92s.

I just switched mine. 070's suck in the cold, or any wet conditions, and if its anything like last winter here, there will be a permanant layer of slush on the roads untill March.

Pirelli 240 Snowsomething tires here.

I switched over to snow tires a few weeks ago....only because the treads on my summer tires were shot (driving in rain was like driving on ice).
