Default Spring Dragon Subaru Meet

OK guys I cant stand it anymore. I am haveing withdrawls and I need to start talking/planning about the next meet at the Dragon!

So when would be a good time?
Should we stay at the Microtel again?
When does Spring begin in the mountians (I am not ready to drive on icy roads)?

Help a brother out. I may need counseling soon.

I recommend mid-late May or early June.

May is definitely a good time... April is probably the prettiest though... flowers are JUST blooming.

Yeah and June will be way to crowded. Needs to be in April, or Early May.

Spring can begin as early as March, but it depends on the season.

Traditionally we've stayed at Fontanna Village. It accomodates a LOT more people than the microtel, plus the bonfire. This year we went June 2nd-6th.

Something like 70 cars ended up showing up.

Mid-Late April would be the best time depending on how long the winter lasts.

Well, winter needs to get started first. What is up with the weather this year? Global warming? Lack of El Nino?

First snow I've seen this season was mixed with rain this very morning. That's October weather.

I'm flexible for a Dragon meet.. whenever.

Was fine for us last year. Drive the dragon during the week, play in the gravel on the weekend.

I was there for the June 6th meet. There were so many tourists, and bikers that the we couldnt really have fun. it was nice, but not as nice as it could have been.

my spring break is freaking early February 26-March 6. that sucks. but i could make the weekend.

Seroiusly though, as soon as the dates are set, I'm putting in for the vacation time. Not gonna miss out on this spring event like I did June's. BTW May would be better, not only is my birthday mid-May. End of any [fiscal] month isn't really the best though, but hopefully I'll be upstairs in the software dept by next year.

i was up at the dragon the weekend before thanksgiving and was expecting low 30's. i was out in shorts and a tshirt half the time. never dropped below 60 most of the time! then i find out a week later that they just caught some snow in the area! but i certainly had a great time when i went up there. can't wait to go back again. i highly reccomend fontana village-its the largest resort close to the dragon that can accomodate a group our size.

but i must say, when i went up there the place was EMPTY. a couple of cars here and there, but NO one was around. if you pick a summer/spring month then it'll be crowded, and when theres more traffic the dangers increase....

You should have seen the looks I got on Sunday night. Went walking to the Wendy's in shorts... probably was in the low 30's or so outside.
