Computer Gurus, im looking at building a computer...pricewatch.com
i used to be into computers but kinda fell out of them about 2 years ago and am now kinda on the backside of technology
anyways i am wanting to spend about 500 bucks on a custom built computer i was thinking AMD 3000 or 3200 a realy nice video card, etc i dont need a monitor or operating system. the computer will be used for business, as well as gaming and maybe video editing, definatlly photoshop i was looking at going barebones system but it seemed that it would be cheaper for me to peice together the comp any help would greatly be appreciated, oh and i prob wont need a case either i would like motherboard suggestions thanks again Greg

asus a7n8x or abit nf7-s $70-100
amd 3000+ ~$130 (overclock that mother****er) Do you have ram? Newegg is running several 2x512 PC3200 deals from $130-200 depending on what timings you want.... You can probably get a 9800 Pro or XT with what you'll have left. Maybe have a look at the x700 and Nvidia 6600 ... |

My advice is that you can actually get more buying a packaged unit, once you factor in the software cost and everything.

I would avoid Pricewatch stores many of the smaller ones are quite shiesty.
Stick to Newegg. You may pay a few dollars more for some parts, but you're going to spend less money on shipping getting everything from one place, and if you have any problems they'll sort it out. |
