http://www.edgeracing.com/tire/1260/

There are several places that, historically, have the better price......learn 'em, love 'em.

Print out the info from the TireRack and take it to a local Pirelli retailer. Most will match or beat the price to get your business. They may have to order the tires out of a warehouse, but they can get 'em in a couple days.

problem is......Tire Rack is a big vendor. If they are out of stock, so is most other places.
I really wanted the 225/50-16 SP Sport 5000's ASY, but everyone was out of stock.
I ended up with the P Zero Nero M&S in the 225/50-16 size.

Maybe you will find a shop with a set. Or, get snows for now and get 3 season tires later on.

I had the PZero Nero M&S on my STi last winter... the -worst- tire in snow and ice I've ever used in 25 years of driving, worse even than the stock RE92s I had on my '02 WRX sedan or my current '05 LGT sedan. Buyer beware.

I find this very difficult to believe.....are you certain that you had the M&S and not the summer tire???.....that is what it sounds like to me....that or you got bad tires.

The RE92s are actually pretty damn capable in the winter.

That said, I can't imagine a dramatic performance drop off for the Pzero Nero M&S because they've been phenominal for me down into the low 20s with some wet on the road. One of the things I've loved about these tires is their ability to stay soft no matter what the temperature is.

I know someone who went through most of last winter on them with a non-4motion Passat and he told me they worked quite well for an all-season. He did eventually move to Wintersport M3's, but that was mostly a move to preserve the 17 inch wheels he bought for the car and that being FWD he occasionally got stuck in deep snow.
