WTF? YES! I am

Default JC Sports and Sports Compact Car Mag....

Get this.....I just got my new issue of SCC (Aug 2001) and there it is on page 70 there is this big article praising JC Sports. Okay, I like seeing the Subys get more atention too but from what I gather, JC Sports really treat their customers like crap. I'm thinking of maybe writing aletter to SCC at www.sportscompactcarweb.com and letting them know thay are not all "that".

What do you people think?

Here we go....

BTW, is there a pic of a group of Subies in there? I can't wait to get mine!! You guys have a right to write letters to SCC, and they had a right to write the article. This is going to get nasty, I can tell, please keep it sane...

i would think that if Sport Compact Car wanted to write an article about the flourishing Subaru aftermarket, they would write it about Cobb Tuning, and NOT write it about JC Sports. i have never had any experiences with JC Sports before, but I have only heard bad things. on the other hand, Cobb Tuning is wel thought-of by everyone.

That has to be a pay-for-press deal. Why would they give scrubs like Weapon R and JC Sports press?

It's called "Advertorial" Buy an ad--get a plug. Not too uncommon in advertising supported rags.

Just think, if GM can "win" Motor Trend Car of the Year, there' no reason why JC Sports and Weapon R can't duke it out for SCC Quality Vendor of the Year.

In reply to JJThe SubeDriver:

Yes there is a pic with a fairly large group of Subies.

BTW, I didn't name my original post "Jump all of JC and flame away". I just thought that maybe there were better people who deserve some respect as far as scoobys go. I just wrote them a letter informing them of COBB, and how good they treat their customers. I didn't really rag out JC that much. Mods....close this if you like but it was not my original intent to start a flame post.

I would prefer to get this thread locked also, but I know that's not going to happen because the (some) moderators and it seems like alot of other people on this board have it out for JCS. Somebody posts a question on a product, and a select few people always have to turn the post into a flame JCS post.

True, they have had customer service problems, I'm not nor is any one else I believe denying that. The people here in Colorado love them, as you can see they had a LARGE customer turnout for the photoshoot. I personally haven't had any problems with them and will continue to purchase from them.

They are not the only vendor on this board BY ANY MEANS with MAJOR customer service problems! But they are the only vendor that get's relentlessly bashed by even the moderators.

Tats- Your intent was maybe not to have a "let's all jump on JC" post, but that is EXACTLY what has and will happen.

And to the rest of you, write your letters and what have you. What do you expect to have happen? A recall of all SCC August issues? SCC to come out and say how JCS is bad and they are sorry that they wrote the article? Like I said, please write them if you want because you have the right to, but if it were me, I wouldn't waste my time.

I'm not slamming the moderator's either, just pointing what I see (and have seen) out. I agree with almost everything else they do and for this board, but on this issue, I disagree with them very much. Same thing with those certain members, you know who you are, that keep on bashing JCS. Say it once or twice, but not continually. I am sure anybody contemplating a purchase from JCS is capable of the research and can make thier own decision without your help...

Sorry, but I'm slightly pissed, I knew this would come up.

And this is not just the Colorado guys wanting to keep "our" vendor. They are not the only deal in Colorado anymore, we have other vendors. I am just personally putting the word out about what kind of experience I have had and PERSONALLY seen others have....

I totally agree JJ.

On that note, since it is unlikely that (some) moderators will not lock this thread...

Tats, PLEASE, lock this thread. Despite your intentions it will be a flame war.

Default where you from?

the only folks I see defending JC are people from CO...
it's been stated many times, if you live in CO you get the best of what JC sports has to offer. On the other hand, if you don't, well you the smelly end of the stick. Just an observation... I have never, and will never purchase from jc sports.

JJ -

Thanks to all hte customers they have screwed, they can provide better service to the local guys. No wonder you are mad when people criticize.

It has to be repeated because otherwise people forget, and then a whole new group of people will start getting screwed.

Suppose someone read that "article" in SCC and said, "Hey, a great tuner, I'll send them some money." Months later, after they have tried to get in touch with them, have been told their order has been shipped, or that their money has been refunded, or "we never got a order from you" but somehow they charged the credit card, they get on here and say, "Man, why do all Subaru tuners suck?" when they really don't.

It's not that it surprises me...but man oh man, what the heck does JC Sports have to offer compared to bigger companies who deal with a national (not to mention more diverse car-wise) clientele? I guess the asking price is cheap.

Why do certain moderators feel free to criticize JC Sport's, SubaruParts.com,

I agree with Tats, I love to see Subaru WRX getting attention and evertime when I get a magazine, I always look for aftermarket parts for WRX. But with all the attention WRX is getting, could someone tell me is JC Sports is even good? I mean, I heard of them and all but never heard if their good or anything.
