Default Group 4 coilovers - rear adjuster extensions too short?

I just installed the Whiteline Group4 coilovers on my 2002 WRX sedan, yesterday. The damping control extension does not stick up above the rear, seat but rather is buried deep within it. I'd guess it's about 1-1.5 inches below the top of the seat. I can get to it, but it's very difficult. This also has the side effect of causing creaking noises as the adjuster rubs against parts of the seat.

Is this normal? The picture on the instructions shows the knob protruding about 1-2 inches *above* the seat.

The ride/handling is very good, I'll do a detailed writeup once I get the car aligned and had a chance to drive it for a few days.

I'd suggest an email directly to Whiteline. Perhaps the extension you received was too short or you didn't use the extension?
