Default Going from N/A to Turbo

I have a 2002 RS and am thinking about adding a small turbo kit on it. I was wondering if anyone had any insight into the costs and problems associated with it, web sites, magazines to check out, people who have done it already, which turbos to use and not to use, etc.

I am trying to find a small and cheap turbo to start with (would even go the used route if necessary). So far the only mod I have it the ganzflo being delievered this friday (thanks larry!). Aside from the turbo itself, what else would I need-- an IC, etc...

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Bahboy20

There is a bunch of information available within the Turbo Powertrain forums. One of the problems going around right now is found here.

There are many other issues including overheating (on MY98's), broken trannies, and partial throttle bucking caused by MAP sensor overload.

My writeup for adapting a legacy turbo can be found here as well as blaster88's writeup here

You can also find install instructions for a custom IHI install here, so you can get an idea of what is involved with putting a turbo kit in.

Finally, I would recommend hunting down a book called Maximum Boost written by Corky Bell.
