St. Pete, Fla., night autocross July 21

The Miata is getting new shoes today, so I think I'll be ready.

The event will be held at the St. Petersburg Junior College - Allstate Campus in St. Petersburg, at the Southeastern Public Safety Institute.

Hey David...those Subaru's last time were me and SUV-ETR.

We may make it out again for this event, it's definitly worth it...much cooler autocrossing at night

The only hang up is there is a CFR points event the next day in Palm Bay...and I really need the points!

We might see ya there!

BTW...the new shoes for the Miata wouldn't be those new Falken's would they?

That's right, it was you guys. (Been a busy day.) it stinks that the CFR autocross is the same weekend, but I don't really have enough points to care anyway. You're right, autocrossing at night is soooooo much cooler. Jacksonville used to have a night series, and it was awesome.

And yes, the Falkens are now mounted. Car got all new suspension last week, so it's much better now.

Hey David, I got my complimentary issue of Grassroots yeasterday, and I wanted to say it's a great magazine, I went right to the cover story and read every bit. BTW, were you at last weekend's autocross in Palm Bay?

The night autocross sounds a lot better than the typical Sunday ones, but I'm probably going to be at Palm Bay again on the 20 or 21st, I understand they're having an open track day and I need the practice.

Glad you enjoyed the mag, and yep, I was at Palm Bay this past Sunday in the white Miata #45. I was also the assistant novice instructor guy.

Was that the event where we waited 1/2 hour while it rained as though Niagra Falls were overhead?

My first evening auto-x, and my first rain event. AWD drifting on wet pavement on a tight course...probably the only raw-time FTD my Scoobie will ever see. Damn, that was fun!

Alas, I think we definitely need to attend the points event in Palm Bay. Maybe we should do both...

Who's up for an all-auto-x weekend? Miata club events are too fun to pass up.

Yep, last year's event was the one where it rained and rained. Once the rain stopped, things went well. I have also thought about doing an all-autocross weekend, but we'll see. I don't really care about my points, so doing the fun event comes first.
