Default wrx fuel tank critical in swap? and Cruise control Q too

I will be getting the ball rolling on an upcoming usdm 2.0L swap for my 00RS. I was told the fueltank needed to be swapped as well. Is this true? Will a usdm wrx fuel pump no bolt up to the RS's tank?

Also, I remember something in regards to using a cruise control bracket to accomodate for the shorter throttle cable. Is this necessary? or has there been a fix to this yet? I plan to retain my cruise.

You do not need the tank. You can swap the wrx pump into the RS's pump housing, or just get a walbro. A 00 RS will have all the emissions equipment needed for a legal swap as well.

You just need to relocate the cruise control actuator because the downpipe will go where it is now. If you have a strut tower bar you can bolt it or zip tie it to that. Some people stuff it into the fender.

A WRX fuel pump will fit in fine. There is no reason to change the tank. As far as the throtle cable goes you will either need to get a WRX throtle cable or relocate the bracket and use the CC spot on it. If you want to make the CC work you are going to have to use the WRX CC unit.
