Okay I have searched high and low but to no luck. On a 02 wrx which of the 3 wires on the passenger and drivers side is the high beam wire, the low beam, and ground wire on the headlight harness? I can't find any wire diagrams or posts about which color is which and I really need to know. Thanks.

Note that it's a common positive, switched ground system. The low and high beam wires are switched grounds, not power.

So How would HIDs be hooked up to the factory harness if it requires the low beam? |

The ballast positive would connect either directly to the factory common positive, or to battery through a relay switched by the headlight circuit. The ballast negative would be connected directly to ground, the switched ground connections should not be used with HIDs.
Are you installing HIDs in the factory housings or in aftermarket lights? If in the factory lights be aware that they aren't designed for HIDs and the resulting beam pattern is poorly controlled, lots of light for you but also lots of glare for other drivers. This is the reason that such retrofits were banned last year by the NHTSA. For further info please read the HID FAQ at the top of this forum. |

Get some help from someone in your area who knows wiring. The diagram above tells you all you need to know if you can understand it.
