Brat, piece something together, I have an Arospeed stainless that looks exactly like the stock WRX one, plus a 22" Resonator will keep it REALLY quiet.
We have easy cars to do custom piping on, so you don't have to be like everyone else and drop $1,000,000 on a Stromung, Apexi or something in that realm.
with the exception of how loud my exhaust was (pre-resonator), I love it, I spent $200 for the custom cat-back piping and muffler.
Our midpipe is really long, so we can add basically any size resonator to quiet it down as much as we want.
Or you can go crazy do a "Y" pipe set-up, one side going to the stock exhaust and one to a custom "stealth" set-up for performance, I met someone with a really cool set-up like that, that kept them out of trouble with the law.
Sorry to be so long winded, good luck.
Bry.

I would look at the STi pipes. I love mine and it is only loud when you really get on it.

I've had the brospeed, since day one of owning my car. It is extremely quiet at idle. When I'm at WOT, my intake "the ganzflow" is louder than the exhaust. In your case this may be your best bet, as subaru sells this system. Then you won't have to worry about the cops trying to stick it to you. Just a thought.

I just got a Magnaflow dual tip and it looks great! The tips are slightly angle cut and are 3.5". I'm very happy with it, although it seems to be quite loud. I don't know if it is bedause I'm not used to it or what. I may have to add that resonator.

Brospeed makes some pretty stock tipped looking mufflers and they're pretty cheap too. I like the Scooby sprt. The tip is only a little bigger thatn stock, but with the non-resonated center pipe it is a little loud, not too loud though.

Brat, if you like your exhaust then just get a resonator put on that, we've got a huge mid-pipe, so keep your exhaust and just tone it down with a resonator from Magnaflow, flowmaster or perfection automotive (1-800-468-4970) They do special orders and we can do up to a 22" resonator.

STi P1 backbox looks stock. I have yet to put mine on, but from what others have said it has a nice mellow deep tone, not too loud. The biggest problem is getting one; shipping from the U.K. is $$$!
