H1s. I can recommend to not go with the el cheapo bulbs you see on eBay that have blue coatings to simulate the look of HID bulbs. Try the Osram Silverstars or Philips Vision Plus.

If they are the OEM JDM HIDs the bulbs are D2S. For best lighting results only use industry-standard D2S bulbs such as Philips or Osram which are 4100K. Avoid aftermarket HID bulbs.
Also if you truly want the best results from your JDMs, and don't want to blind other drivers (especially with HIDs), you'll need to open them up and modify the internal plates to correct the RHD beam pattern. |

He shouldn't need a kit if he already has a complete set of JDM HIDs with the ballasts and wiring. From his post all he seems to be looking for is bulbs.

HID bulbs do change color sometimes. If this has happened you will need to replace the bulb.

Like I said, OEM HID bulbs are all 4100K. Which is what you should stick with if you want the maximum useful light output from those lights. Plus they must be D2S bulbs. Most that you will find will be 4100 0r 4300K. Why you think that 12000K would be ideal is beyond me, those would be almost useless.

Yes 4100K is kinda white, that's the idea. Anything higher will have more blue content with less usable light and more glare, which should be of particular concern to you if you're in an urban area where you are more likely to be annoying oncoming drivers with those lights. More so if you don't modify the RHD beam pattern which I highly recommend that you do before using them.
As for the DRL question, when installing HIDs you MUST disable the DRL control module by the glovebox by unplugging it. You should also not connect the negative side of the ballasts to the headlight switched ground circuit, but directly to chassis or battery ground. |
