Default Shooting ideas for a good restaurant to take the lady in the LA area.

I'm preferably looking for a good restaurant to go to this upcoming Saturday cause its the lady's anniversary. So if anyone has a good recommendation of a restaurant within 20-30 miles from LAX that would be great. Don't want to drive too far cause traffic is going tol be horrible.

I was thinking of someplace with a nice atmosphere like PF Chan, Stinking Rose, or Cheesecake factory. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.

- Angeli (Melrose) is fantastic. Small neo-family like Italian with modern atmosphere.

7274 Melrose, three blocks west of La Brea -- (323) 936-9086

- Thai House (W. Pico). Modern atmosphere as well. Satay is great.

8657 West Pico Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90035 -- (310)274-5492

- Cafe Talesai. Another great Thai restauraunt.

9198 Olympic Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90212 -- 310 271-9345

- A.O.C. Extremely good Mediterranean style food and the best atmosphere. However, it is a little pricy and Hard to get in as it is very posh. If you cant get a reservation there is a walk in section that is first come first served. I actually think its more fun that way.

8022 W 3RD St, Los Angeles, California 90048 -- (323) 653-6359

- Grace. American style food, romantic setting. Also a little pricy... but it's very classy and it will score you some serious points.

7360 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, California 90036 -- (323)934-4400

- Farmers Market/The Grove. If you are looking for something a little less intamate but still have a popping atmosphere, go here. Lots of different kinds of food, not to $$$, and great for people watching.

Corner of 3rd and Fairfax

My boss is telling me that I actually have to do some work right now. Ill post more later.

you have to pay 3-4 bucks to read the reviews though.

i ended up just buying the la restaurant guide(15 shipped?) and i keep it in my glove compartment....so me and my lady can check out new places when we feel spontaneous.....

if youve never heard of zagat...check it out.

Overland Cafe. It's a little hole in the wall, dimly lit, small place, with a small staff. Very cozy, and very romantic. It on Overland in W|LA north of Venice Blvd south of the 10 Fwy.

Default Places for Dinner for the Lady

Houston's in Santa Monica (202 Wilshire Blvd)

The Chart House in Malibu (18412 Pacific Coast Highway)

Moonshadows in Malibu (20356 Pacific Coast Highway)

Melisse in Santa Monica (1104 Wilshire) <-- This is my pick. I went there for an anniversary and I can honestly say it ranks among my top 3 dining experiences ever. Not only is the food divinely delicious, but the service is over-the-top personalized. Like most people, we did the tasting menu (you get to sample 3 items for each course) which allows you to sample the menu. The chef greets each guest personally. The only downside: feeling like the most important couple in Los Angeles doesn't come inexpensively.

Bamboo. Culver city/Los Angeles. cant go wrong with Caribbean food. atmosphere is fantastic, food is great, but a little expensive.

Cha Cha Cha. Los Angeles/Melrose Ave. atmosphere is as good as Bamboo, but lighting is a little too dark, I like to see my food when I eat it. the taste makes up for the lack of light!

Authentic Cafe. another mexican/south american mix on Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles. one of my favorites, not too expensive, fantastic food, the best Sangria and great atmosphere.

go to either one of these restaraunts and you'll surely score.
