Yeah, that's about right.

Default Q: Where's the Yaohan?

Somebody mentioned that there's a Yaohan (Japanese supermarket) in Vancouver -- is that true? Where is it? Can't seem to find it in the yellow pages.

TIA!

Look for Richmond Subaru and accross the street is Yaohan! But don't get sucked into Richmond Subaru, bad people who really don't know subaru at all.

Technically, that supermarket did not call Yaohan anymore, it's called Osaka or something like that. That chinese mall is called Yaohan though.

Why do you want to go to Yaohan? Go T&T!

If you're looking for a Japanese bookstore, yes, its in the Yaohan building.

I'm confused with the whole Yaohan thing. Yaohan was a Japanese sorporation that went out of business. Yet, there is still a supermarket here named that...did they just keep the name and switch owners? Good place to get Japanese car mags...(upstairs). Expensive though, I'm wishing I had brought more mags back from Japan.

No, Yaohan is the name of the building. The actual supermarket that used to be called Yaohan is now called Osaka Market.

And yes, Tora, you should've brought more mags back from Japan.

Thumbs up T&T better

Go the T&T route
They've got locations all over the place in the Lower Mainland (vancouver, burnaby, coquitlam, port moody..... ) and I think they've got a much better selection.

That reminds me...I may need something for dinner!
