the side wall would be bulking out on 7.5. you need to go with 8.0 or 8.5

I think the tire may fit onto the wheel, but it may not fit under your fender very well. A 245/45-17 will be almost an inch taller than stock & very wide, so it would probably rub your fender. The 225/45-17 will be a much better fit.

it WILL fit and looks good but u have to shave your fenders...i have this similar setup on my advan rgs 17x8.5 245/40/17 and will buy the azenis sports next (245/45/17). your 7.5 will size width will make the tires stick out more....ive seen it done...JM

I have Kumho 245/40/17's with no fender modifications. I almost went with the Azenis but the diameter difference was to great for me to be comfortable with. The extra height may require the fender roll.

Oh, and I think that will be a tough fit (on 7's or 7.5's). It may really depend some on rim choice and offset.

it will fit, but there's going to be a lot more tire than there is rim. it's like fitting 225 on a 7" width wheel, but the your tire height is going to be a problem. It's almost certain you will rub, depending on your wheel offset either the fender lip or your suspension.

Falken's website says the 245/45-17 fit a 7.5"-9.0" wheel. You're really close, but it should work. 245s really deserve a wider wheel.

As someone said, 245/45-17s are about an inch taller than stock.

Why should this be of a concern to WRXs?
1) Your speedometer will not show the right speed. When your speedo shows 60, you'll be doing around 61.9 mph. Keep that in mind if you get pulled over for speeding. "I was only doing 75!" No, your speedo shows 75, you were actually going faster than 75.
2) A taller than stock tire will mean it'll take more effort to get the car rolling from a start. Your gearing in all gears will be taller, therefore your launches or starts will be worse than they were before. 2nd gear will go to around 64 mph (actual) than 62ish. WHich means taller gearing. Again... detrimental to your launch.
3) Weight... a 245/45-17 Azenis is a HEAVY tire. About 2-3 lbs heavier than the 225/45-17. Again, hurting your launch.

If you're set on 245/17s.. then you will NEED 245/40-17s. Otherwise, 225/45-17s would be more than sufficient.

this should be moved to tires and wheels forum. While its here, I wouldn't recommend 245's on a 7.5 width rim. It fits, yes, but its not safe if you're going to push the car. The azenis sports only come in 45 series too if you get the 245's. And yes, the 245/45/17 azenis sports rubbed on my 17x8 ce's in 44 offset, but stopped after I rolled the fenders. Good luck with your search Nasif

haha. yeah, 245's are kind of pushing it. You'll be safe with 235's. I think you're suppose to go 235/45 as it is closer to stock circumfrance(sp)

245 AVS ES100s will fit [w/o major rubbing] on 17x8 ET48s at stock ride height. AVS ES100s are rather narrow through the midsection while retaining a wide footprint, so the sidewalls are clear.

That's more of a factoid than anything else.

245s will not fit 7.5" rims. If they do fit, they shouldn't and won't like fitting. Stick with 235s. It at least lifts that potato-cannon off of your shoulders having disconnected yourself from people who think that 225s on their Civic mean serious business. Public Service Announcement: 225s are narrow. 235s aren't exactly wide, but that extra centimeter means that your dick triples in length (at LEAST).

Wow, lost control of this post.
