Question Need help taking off front bumper...

Well, it's winter and I need to take off the front bumper on my wagon because it has a JDM lip on it and I don't want to wreck it. I'm just wondering how difficult it is to take off the bumper. I really haven't taken a look at it, but I'm assuming I have to take off the headlights. I'm just wondering if anyone has a rough estimate at how many fastners/screw are holding it into place. The best part about this job is the replacement bumper is silver. Should look sweet on my white wagon Thanks guys!

Mike

Scooby Specialist and you're yet to remove your front bumper? Just messing wit ya. Its not that difficult. Just a lot of clips to remove. Remove grill and headlights. One of the hardest things to remove is the inner clip that holds the bumper to the fender. Its just tight in there but its not impossible to remove. If you really want to know how many fasteners are holding the bumper...why don't you grab that silver bumper and look at the surrounding holes in it. It'll give you a better idea. Enjoy.

It is not that hard to take off IMHO. Takes about 20 minutes. I have done this a few times with my stock and C-west swapping. Take the headlights out and get all the top clips out, then fender areas. I think there are a few on the bottom too if I remember right.

Thanks for all your help guys. Bessie brings up a good point. I'll check the silver bumper and look at all the holes. Thanks!

Make sure you don't forget to remove the 1 clip near dead center in front of the radiator and the 2 clips under the brake vent under the foglights. Iirc, they all should be accessible from below.

Word of advice- visit the dealer first and pick up some spare clips, at least a few of each type (there are several different ones). You can expect to break at least a couple while taking them off.
