Default butchered morette harnesses - full rewire info needed

Hi,

I've searched and read many threads on morette wiring, I have a used morette harness that looks like its been butchered and re-wired several times. Its the HID version, with a big ballast for the lows and a smaller one for the highs.

What I am wondering is if anyone has a complete wiring pic / diagram of the ballasts and morettes. not just to an acutall hrness, but the light units themselves with the ballast leads etc

My aim is to wire the morette high ballasts to battery, ground the low ballasts direct, and use the oem plugs for the rest. However, I need to know what is what on the morette units - the unit themselves, not any aftermarket harnesses - I am looking for this wiring diagram but all I have found is harness pics and the simple pics showing the 'plug and play' harnesses. That was what was in the car originally but its been butchered and hacked and the wires for example have ends swapped, etc.

At this point I have them working in a rudimentary way, but the highs are not always turning off if the fogs are on (which is weird). If no fogs, the highs go out fast with no problems. I have to run the fogs right now because I have one bad ballast (for sure, the car came with it wired reverse polarity, it has the burnt electrical smell coming out of it).

So I also need to find one new low beam ballast..

I'm not sure from your post exactly what you have. I doubt that you'd have lights with HIDs for both low and high beam, while not unheard of this is uncommon. Ballasts generally don't come in "sizes", so you wouldn't have big ones and small ones. Are these just relays perhaps?
I think some good detailed pics would be very helpful here.

no they are both definitely HIDs - dont have a digi cam.. so here goes

the HID high beam ballast, I wired direct to batt with a fuse. It switches on and off properly. The lows also work properly (on the side with the good ballast). I had to replace all relays (there were 4) in the original setup to get it working. Three of them were blown, so I suspect the way it is wired right now is not going to last for long. Again, I didnt do it this way but fixing a mess. The only issue now is that the highs seem to find a path to ground that doesn't go away when the fogs are on (suspect its grounding via another path).

the low beam ballast I need replaced hooks up to a DS2 bulb, it is rectangular at the base, has a 'wedge' type of shape, two mounting points on one side, a third on the opposite side, with 2 leads out of it (+/-) and then the bulb connector. It has a bar code and number on the back 73772466 00805616, followed by "SOFT1.05", and an orange "LOT/NUMERO" sticker reading 01112919. The two leads out of it, funnily enough, are black and red, however they weren't wired up the traditional way (black goes +).

Obvisouly I can't ask for help for fixing my specific mess, but looking for wiring direct on the ballast and the morette units in the way I've read in your other threads (high beam HID ballast + to batt, low beam HID - to ground, the rest plumbed in to stock).

Any info with regard to the Morette wiring wouldn't be directly applicable to your lights since they've been modified with the HIDs.
The description of the unit connected to the low beam isn't familiar, my guess is that you may have a kit with separate ballast and ignitor units (the ignitor is a smaller unit that connects between the ballast and bulb).
You shouldn't have either one of the ballasts connected to the factory headlight switched grounds. Ground them both directly and use relays to control them.
