I recently had to get behind my cluster to remove some wires from a gauge and them i turned the car on the low fuel light was on and the speedometer did not work. I messed around with the wires a bit then and then the low fuel light went off but the speedometer still does not work. Does anyone know what wires i should be looking at or where else i could look to solve the problem?

That's a tough question. The speed wire itself (as well as the tach wire) is located on the smallest of the three connectors a 10 pin connector.I would disconnect it and snap it in again. However i think the speedometer is also influenced by the cruise control circuit. If i recall correctly haing a blown fuse in the cruise control stopped the speedometer from working. Because those gauges work off a circuit board other things could cause it not to work Hopefully it something simple.

I looked at the fuse and they were all good but it was night so ill check again later. Which small connector is it the left or the right? When i tried to adjust the small ones the low fuel light went away so im assuming that more adjusting or checking of the wires would solve the speedometer too since it happened at the same time. Does anyone know what wire exactly to look at?

Are you sure that it is properly connected - no bent pins, no swapped harnesses, completely plugged in?

Thanks for all the help but i got it to work again. One of the pins must have just not been contacting properly.
