Cool, thanks man, I just ordered 20 of the blue.
I just wanna do the Key Ring and the AC controls, so that should be plenty.
I figure I can double them up and have them look bluer
or I can cut a peice of deep blue lighting film and place that around the bulb, then put the condom on and see if that gives me a nice blue color. If not, then I will go with the red. Thanks again !!

I have a diffrent radio. It's half the face size and just does CD and radio. I figure it would be basically he same on the inside but has anyone tried it? I'd like to know it can be done before I go cracking it open. If I get no replies by next weekend I'll dig in and try to get some pictures up.

Like I said, blue comes out teal, even "double bagged". The lighting film might help, the problem however is that the incancedent light emits naturally weird hues. I was set on blue, tried it, but then went to red.

I think this will be harder with an aftermarket radio, post pics of the faceplate, some things like LCD readouts color can never be changed.

This is the same radio but this guy's is silver. It came from the dealership but in my car the silver part is black. The radio you modded had an LCD, I just need to find out if it's or not right?

The stock radio has a B&W LCD, just lit up by bulbs, some radios have sort of an indoglo in the LCD's which you cant change. Carefullly take it apart and see.

HVAC is do-able, click on the links at the top for where to get them, they should be the same sizes. As for the stereo i think the main LCD part will stay green, looking for some info from the new-gen guys too.

The pic for the trickiest part (soldering) comes up as a red X:

Otherwise, can you help me change my underpants? I took a corner too hot and pooped myself.

Anyone have a link to do this on the 05's? Or how to do it on the window switches or any of the STi switches?

buymeasti - the pic comes up fine for me, anyone else having a problem with the pic, also no specific 05 tutorial as of yet as I have no 05 take pics, examine, etc. Window and other switches are tricky, there is no good way of doing that as of now, I'll try and get a better way to do them, but again I have been pretty busy lately, so dont hold your breath.

When I did this a few years ago, I did the whole car with blue led's. I then changed the button areas on the radio to yellow leds. So now the guages are backlit blue with yellow needles, and the radio lcd is blue with yellow buttons.
I also designed a boost guage to fit in the Subaru din pocket that fits where the clock goes. This was blue 7 segment led too.

CNC machined housing I had done....

Those red bulb covers will fade over time to a peach color.

From my experiance you only get a peach color when they are not put on properly or slip off, have had mine for quite some time now.

Does anybody have pictures of the "teal" colored light that is emitted from the blue covered lights? If so could you send them to me or post them? If you could my email is kicking1012003@yahoo.com but I do believe that it would be helpful to everyone. Thanks

i just tried..... no go for me!

it seems that the green color is from the actual faceplate of each button. the faceplate button that lights up green is actually green painted over with grey. unless theres a way to clear colored plastic then im outta ideas. but besides that popping everything off wasnt so bad. pretty self explainatory.. the LED that lights up the buttons are clear

**edit**

second thought.... assuming the STI's are put together the same way i dont know why we cant just get the buttons from an sti pop them in and call it a day?

any takers?
