Are all of the pins aligned properly? Are the plastic rings pushed down all the way? Do the dials move freely when out of the car? Did you remove the needles? Can you take a picture? You give nothing to go on, and want results, I don't know what to tell you. What exactly did you do, and how did you do it?

^ yes

However, the better way to go - with more choices for colors, and truer color, leaving the needles unchanged (and amply lit) is to use stage lighting gels.

It's a plastic sheet. Instead of changing the color of the light emitting from the bulbs, which will affect the needles and the back lighting alike, you remove the stock filter that is printed on the back of the dials, and then add your own filter. Your needles remain well lit, which in my experience, they did not when I used the filters on the bulbs.

Any of a thousand places you wish to patronize - I'd start with google. Figure out what color you want, maybe ask for a sample, then buy what you need.

I have templates for my 04 gauges (speedo and tach), but still news to redo the fuel and water temp-change it over from the bulb filers to lighting gels, and when I do, I will make a template for those.

Search my threads for interior redox for it.

i've tried the sanding method with horrible results... see on the back side were the diagonal slits are pull the prongs straight up and with a screw drive push the tiny circle this pops the gauges out. take nail polish remover with acetone and q-tips and wipe away the green it takes a bit buy the bulbs from here http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...s%2F74_t15.htm your gonna need about 8 after you cleaned off the right area pop those bulbs in your dash will be almost blinding bright here is a pic of mine with only half the bulbs in

to get the green lcd's blue just put the bulbs in it and it changes the color

also when you take out the gauges there are little covers over the bulbs for the speedo and rpm gauge break those off you'll get more light

Just did this. Replaced the OEM lights with LEDs from superbrightleds.com

Ended up looking alright. Everyone needs to exercise some caution because I played with the needles a little bit too much and now my speedo is messed up a bit. It is a little on the slow side but I think readjusting the needle will fix it.

The sanding was a pain in the ass! 100 grit might be a little rough because I got some blotching. I suggest using 120 instead and you get the same results with the same amount of sand time with less blotching. Great mod

The small ones with small bases are T4 base type 74 bulb. They have a regular size and a tall size. Next is the bigger base is a T10. The smaller bulb is a 5mm (.2) and the bigger one is a 10mm (.12). I found the bulbs and covers on this site called autolumination.com. They have incandescent and LED bulbs

Default Well Done

Thank you! im going to try this myself, the tutorial was very clear. Is it just as easy to replace the entire bulb with say a red LED? Because it seems the link to light condoms is dead..

well after a few years of a fairly well dispersed red condom mod I'm finally going to attempt to redo this with some more features. I just picked up an LED strip from ikea that is 12volt and RGB selectable. the idea is to put them up around the sides of the inside of the cluster and wire them into an actual circuit for the dash. ill lose the dimmer feature in pretty sure but being able to cycle colors will be super cool.

The links are dead. Where do I get the proper bulbs? Bulb condoms? I need some numbers so I can pick them up locally or worst case scenario online.

I want the brightest such fitment bulb.

Someone please pm me about this. I already tried contacting all the users who posted the stickies with no response...

Here is how I changed the color of my cluster, with provided links to the right LEDs.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2474210

There is also some info on how to invert the trip LCD and change the color of the gear selector for us 4EAT drivers.
