Default Adjusting ride height on JICs (stuck)

I can't seem to adjust the ride height on the JICs FLTA2s. Anyone have problems with the body of the shock seizing inside the hub mount? I attempted locking the lock rings together and using a breaker bar but it just strips the cheap aluminum lock rings. Help!!??! Im about 2 seconds from putting a pipe wrench on the the threads that I will never use and just yanking on it.
