Default Now putting the Axis 2.5 together-pics of mods

Thought I had a bad cylinder in #4. Low compression - 135psi
Turns out it was a bad exhaust valve. But I had the Axis,.. ej25,.. stage #2 in the back so it is going in.

Sent the heads out. There are putting in .05" St. Steel over sized exhaust valves.??
Am going to port the heads.

Doing the tumbler delete. Also notched out the bottom of the divider plate so the injectors have better flow

Have an FPgreen and a Turboxs fm ready. Vivid said the "turboxs and Perrin FMIC's were fairly equal"??? I'm not so sure.

Sweet. That's going to be a stout setup. I love my 2.35 block.

Turboxs fm Not as nicely put together as the Perrin. Oh well.

....hope the turboxs can handle an FPgreen. Both from Vivid. I got great pricing

Nice motor. With those heads the Green is kinda small. That is a GT35 motor.

Hi Tim
The valves are $22 x 8 exhaust valves. Southworth machined the face and are doing the valves - Probably $260 total.

Also thanks to

Eurosport Tuning in Eugene. And Tim (doctor) Bailey. at PDX, who is kind of overseeing the project.

Same cams, and Pete is going to do a mild p & p on the heads.

FP green to small??? I'm tired of the car eating itself as it is. This is it.

FPgreen is what is going in, no sense debating the point, here anyway.

Tips from others who have done this are welcome.

I am not saying Green should not go in. Put it in! I am just saying that motor can take a much larger turbo. Compressor maps show that. Getting mighty close to Supra size motor there. Of course that does not mean you should put a bigger turbo in as you illustrate.

As far as eating itself, you have a valid point. However, I am not sure there is a stronger motor. It should survive fine. Drive line could be a problem though if that is what you are refering to.

Any projections on power? I have some. On 93 octane and a Dyno Jet, I bet 380whp at 20# boost but just an absurd amount to torque maybe 400+ ft# at the wheels.

Anyhow, Go Green! Nice project. Good luck and post some plots. I may follow you if my JDM bottom ever goes. I really look forward to seeing the outcome of this!

My apolgies for not replying sooner. Anyway, yes, I did the tumbler delete, but in the form of JDM STi RA-C housings - of which there are no tumblers whatsoever. No p&p for me, didn't have the money, will save that for another day. Went with JDM STi ver. 5/6 EJ207 cams, JDM STi RA valve springs and USDM STi shimless buckets.

Thanks Tim

Note: It is the turboxs, I was told it was as good as the Perrin by the vendor. It does not look nearly as big, - / - or well built. Kyle down here has a Perrin FM, ..and we eyeballed them side by side so to speak.

As long as it holds up to the FPgreen it's OK.

Have the fmic in, putting a black screen in front of it, birds, etc.????
Hope the screen blends into the car.

Engine is waiting on valves. The heads are lightly ported. I will take some pics of the heads.

a fair sized topmount can handle an FPGreen. I'm hoping a JDM sti topmount will handle it.

Depends on how hard you push the boost..... ambient temps, etc.

You're always better off with a FMIC IMO.... there's just much more cooling capacity and thats never a bad thing.

Greens will make power with a TMIC..... but they make more with a FMIC

Cheers

I think he has a point capt, you can't use a Green to its potential with a top mount
