Sylvania bulbs (silverstars)-buy one, get one half off at advance auto. $5 rebate too

This might be a local special, but it's worth a shot...
Got a pair of silverstars at Advance Auto yesterday. One for me, one for a friend's Camry. They weren't even the same size. All the sylvania bulbs are buy one, get one half off and there's a $5 rebate on top of it. Be sure to grab a rebate form from their rack in store.

Why did you waste/spend that money??!!!

You need OSRAM silverstars. Much better (from what people tell me, i'll know soon enough)

these are OSRAM/sylvania silverstars.
It's the same comany.
But I guess I wasted my money.

Yes Osram is the parent company of Sylvania, but they are definitely NOT the same bulbs. Sylvania Silverstars are "superwhite" type bulbs made exclusively for the US market and do not offer any real improvement in lighting output, they just look brighter. They also don't last as long as stock bulbs.
Osram Silverstars are true high-efficiency, stock wattage bulbs that offer increased usable light output and performance. They are clear with no blue coating. These bulbs are not distributed in the US through normal retail outlets and are only available through online vendors such as Daniel Stern.
Search for threads in this forum with the keyword "Osram" and you'll find more info and user reviews.
