Question Considering a move to Nashville, your thoughts on the area please!

Hey everybody, I'm considering a move to Nashville, TN but don't know many people there. What do you guys think of the area? +'s and -'s would be great. I'll most likely be living in the downtown area or The Gulch. There seems to be a lot of urban renovation taking place in the area which seems really nice. Any info you can provide will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Ive been there three times for work. I had a blast each time, I don't know if it would be fun to live there since I'm there for three day stints every three months.

Real Estate is cheaper than Atlanta, that's all I know..dont know how old you are or what you like to do.

It seems like everybody I talk to really likes visiting the place, I just don't know many people who live there. Like you said, it's hard to tell if someplace would be a cool city to live in after only short visits.

Thanks for the info

My wife's family is from teh area and I have been up there plenty of times. It seems south of the city is the growing areas. A lot of nice malls and friendly people. Cost of living seems to be dirt cheap and you actually have fresh air. I love it up there because I am a cyclist and I can ride 50 miles without passing a car on some of the remote back roads. I had thought about moving my family up there, but that would mean putting up with the inlaws on a daily basis Honestly, if I got a job offer that was better than what I have now, I would move in a heartbeat.

I live in Chattanooga and go there pretty regularly for work and friends. It's a nice town, cheaper cost of living than most places out of state. Great nightlife, good eats, hot girls. Tennessee, if you don't already live here, is great for outdoor activities and twisty mountain roads your Subie will love you for. No state income tax either! Woohoo!! My town is real nice too, very scenic, a bit smaller than Nashville but even cheaper to live in. Good luck!

I grew up in Murfreesboro, TN lived there 28 years. It is about 30 minutes drive from Nashville. Spent alot of time at the River Front Park and Opryland (closed now) as a kid. Great area to live in and raise kids. Not sure I would want to live downtown. I would look at surrounding areas LaVergne, Smyrna, Franklin, Lebanon, Murfreesboro, Brentwood. I'll have to agree the night life rocks, and Nashville even has the Titans now (this season wasn't so good). Good luck on your move!

Nashville is overrun with hot chicks who are bored with rednecks and wannabe country music singers.

Normal dudes have it made there.
