die-cast testarossa question

is the 1:18th hotwheels testarossa the best that can be had in 1:18th scale?

did kyosho ever make one?

edit: sorry, kyosho probably made this for HW? since i know that is was made by someone else.

edit again: talking about the 1984 testarossa.

ACtually Bburago made one, but it's not very good.

Mattel owns the Ferrari license to make models...so that'll be your only choice, unless they let someone else make some like they did with 1/43 scale replicas and model kits.

Minichamps makes a REAL nice 1:12 F40

Same ppl that make the 1:12 MclarenF1 that goes for $$$

Mattel only recently had the ferrari deal.

yeah, the hotwheels looks like the least inaccurate. i think HW recently got the ferrari license didn't they? i've found a few kyosho branded 308's and they are flat out incredible. those 1:12 scale F40's scream... i don't think i could spend that much though! the new enzo's by HW look decent though. same old story i suppose, get what you can.

I know it's only recently, but it's hard to find the older ones though. If you want the best get the 1:8 scale Pocher kit (it's amazing)

Yeah the Mattel F40 looks exactly like the early 90's bburago F40 I had that was a piece of junk.

Hmm, I'll have to look for the minichamps.

i actually got the mattel testarossa from them. i was just noticing that it's not as realistic - things like there's no black molding around the windows, it's painted red. i may have to get some flat black paint and touch it up. also the rear horse emblem is black and not chromed like i think the real one was. the scaling seems to be off a little on the back hatch too, but its probably to accomodate the opening of the hatch. otherwise it's not so bad. but i was just checking to see if there was anyone who made a better one.

edit: oh and there's a paint chip on the side near the back hatch. the inside of the box was suspiciously taped around the ends.
