Default Yellow HIDs

Kinda of a wierd question here. I understand the Kalvin chart for HID colors and Temperatures, and I know they dont make a yellow burning HID bulb. I have an 04 STI w/ factory HIDs (I believe they are 4300K). They are pretty halogen looking as far as color goes. I like the yellow halogen bulbs seen in a few different fog lights. I'm trying to get the look of the headlights on the cars in the 24hr Le Mans circuit. I want a cyrstal clear bright yellow looking headlamp. I bought a yellow lense film kit for my lights. It looks kick ass in the daytime, but at night with the HIDs on it just appears to look even more like a halogen bulb. I want the Le Mans yellow damnit!! Anyone have ideas or have seen what I'm talking about? Thanks

Chances are, LeMans and GT cars simply use a yellow film that has a deeper hue than what you got. You could try adding a second layer.

They do make yellow HID's, they may be rare but they do exist.

They are sold in Japan as 3000k I think. I was very interested in them about a year ago until I found out they burn out quite frequently.

Xenonfactory.com has 3000k "yellow" HID bulbs but I don't believe they have them in the bulb type that'll fit the STI housings. Maybe you can email them and ask to see if you can have them rebased.

Yep

That's why the aftermarket HIDs are not properly focused in normal halgen headlight system

The lighting element is in differnet location.

So that readjustment is necessary.
