Reflash after tranny swap?

I am having my tranny rebuilt with STi RA gears and was wondering if it is necessary to have the ECU reflashed (ECUTek) after the gear swap?
I'm going from a stock WRX gearset to STi RA for those who are wondering.

Nah, you don't need a reflash, because the ECU doesn't control the transmission. Your car will get quicker naturally

Changing the tranny has nothing to do with the way the motor makes power. Just how it transfers it.
