Question Correct silver/chrome bulbs for clearing 04 STi headlights?

Well, I never really got a good response to my question in the Int/Ext Mod section. So maybe someone frequents this section but not the other and has some help for me. Paticularly including information on any reasons one brand of bulb would be better than another.

Alright, I just read through all of this post (How to clear MY04 headlights - photo instructions) and I am still trying to verify which bulbs to get and from where to make the fronts completely clear with a chrome / silver bulb that blinks amber for the turn signal. Can someone please help me out and tell me how many bulbs I need for the front and which ones are better?

A pair covers the turn signal blinkers, but without straining myself too much can someone tell me what the other set of small bulbs are for that some people are replacing and why they would replace them?

Also, what would be a good replacement for the amber bulb in the rear to make it appear clear / chromed / silver but still light up as amber? Can someone give an exact link to that and maybe make it the same website as either of the two above so I can order from the same place?

TIA,

no difference in brands. they'll be pretty much the same 12V/27W

you will need two 7440 bulbs for the turn signal

the other bulbs are for the parking lights. i just left my orange in there though

Thanks for the reply Quack. I plan on taking out the orange in the parking lights as well (even though it doesn't show much). So let me see if I got this exactly right now.

Front Turn Signal bulbs
Pilot 7440 Amber Chrome (sold individually, so x2) - $4.49 each, $8.98 for a pair
http://www.cardomain.com/item/PILXC7440A

Front Parking bulbs
Pilot 194 Amber Chrome (sold as a pair) - $4.49
http://www.cardomain.com/item/PILXC194A

Rear Turn Signal bulbs (same as fronts, just needing slight modification?)
Pilot 7440 Amber Chrome (sold individually, so x2) - $4.49 each, $8.98 for a pair
http://www.cardomain.com/item/PILXC7440A

Am I correct that the 194 bulbs will fit perfectly in place of the 168 bulbs? And will the Pilot 7440 bulbs work for the rear turn signal bulbs as well? Will they need trimmed still though?

Thanks again,
offset

Alright after seeing Quack's response I reread the original FAQ again and it does indeed look like an 04 STi needs 7443 bulbs for the rear. It is interesting to see differences between sedan and wagon models for the types of bulbs used I think. So it looks like my list above will now actually be...

Front Turn Signal bulbs
Pilot 7440 Amber Chrome (sold individually, so x2) - $4.49 each, $8.98 for a pair

Front Parking bulbs

Rear Turn Signal bulbs
Pilot 7443 Amber Chrome (sold individually, so x2) - $4.49 each, $8.98 for a pair

and I am not sure about any model other than an 04 STi, but I feel pretty good about it being right now. Thanks again Quack (and all those who posted in the original thread).

One last question. It appears that the Pilot 7440's are listed as 27W while the original spec on the stock bulbs is 21W. Is that anything to worry about?

Would these bulbs work on a 05 WRX?

....I took amber bulbs....put a tape 'dot' on it where the orange needs to be......sprayed it with hi-temp silver paint.....let it dry.....pulled the 'dot' off and DONE.

Worked fine for at least a year....traded the car....
