Default Is there a liquid epoxy or plastic that hardens to a non-toxic barrier?

What I am looking for is a clear barrier over a rough base. Something that would work like Saran Wrap over a pan of cookies, but thicker.

Something like pouring liquid fiberglass resin over the cookies, would harden clear, and not be toxic when hardened. It needs to conform to the underlying shape like liquid.

Any engineer fab types out there?

I think they used that in mythbusters, pretty cool stuff.
