Default Ecutek question....

I live in MD and they are extremely strict on emissions testing. If they can tell the stock ecu has been messed with they will not pass you. So i was wondering is the EcuTek reflash emissions detectable?

Yes, from what I am told (I have the Ecutek reflash) when it is time to test your car again, you will need to go back to where you got the reflash done and have the stock map flashed onto your car and then come back after the test to put the tuned map back onto your computer. This is true at least in California, but we don't have to smog our 05's here until 2011, so I'm not too worried. In MD, you only need to worry about it if they have implemented checking for the VIN, CIN, and CVN on your ECU. Read this thread for all the info about that:
