Default Defi D-Gauge oil temp install ???

I currently have the gally plug and understand that I need an adapter for NPT to BSPT, I want to know how long the temp probe is and will it fit with no problems? do I need some sort of extension or will it go right in. I done searches and most adress autometer and Defi BF but not the set up i'm interested in. Does anyone have experiece with this particular set-up?
thank you,
Mitch

With the adapter I bought from Lowes, I needed to drill out the interior of it so the probe would fit through it.

As for clearances, I'm not exactly sure. If you have room around the the probe for liquid to flow, you shouldn't need to worry about things. The pressure will push oil around the probe to give you accurite readings.

I have not had any issues with my D-gauge oil temp probe that I mounted in a sandwich adapter between the block and the oil filter.
